School Holidays Begin in Northern Cyprus
Today marks the end of the first semester of the 2024-2025 academic year in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Students from primary and secondary schools will receive their report cards and officially start their holiday break.
Starting February 1, approximately 62,000 students will be on vacation:
- 28,000 students from 128 primary schools,
- 30,000 students from 48 secondary schools,
- 4,000 students from 13 vocational and technical schools.
Alongside them, 6,300 teachers from both public and private schools and 450 students from adult and vocational education centers will also begin their break.
The holidays will last until February 16, with the second semester resuming on Monday, February 17. The school year is set to conclude on June 16, 2025.
Additionally, it was announced that during the holiday period, children will have free access to museums and cultural sites across Northern Cyprus, while a series of workshops for students is planned in Kyrenia.
