Six Illegal Immigrants Sent to Prison in Northern Cyprus
In Northern Cyprus, six individuals appeared in court, arrested for residing in the TRNC without residence permits. The suspects were sentenced to 20 days in prison.
The defendants, Mandefo Blez Mutendi, Alex Abraham Williams, Marcus Omolayor Gogan, Chukwuemeka Charles Anele, Henry Igochukwu Eneasato, and Daniel Terry, had all been in the country illegally for extended periods ranging from 585 to 1526 days.
Five out of the six arrested foreigners were apprehended during police operations conducted nationwide from July 6 to July 9.
One additional suspect, Daniel Terry, voluntarily presented himself at the immigration department of the police on July 9 to obtain entry and exit documents. During the immigration check, it was discovered that he had been residing in the TRNC without authorization.
The judge decided to send the suspects to prison for a period not exceeding 20 days.
