Gas Prices Drop in Northern Cyprus
In the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), the cost of gas in ten-kilogram cylinders has decreased. The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has been reduced by 10 Turkish liras.
The new cost of a gas cylinder will be 380 Turkish liras instead of the previous 390 TL. The updated gas price will take effect from tomorrow.
Recall that earlier last week, there were reports of a gas shortage in cylinders in Northern Cyprus. The supplying companies started implementing controlled distribution of LPG to avoid depleting reserves completely.
A gas-loaded ship is expected to arrive in Northern Cyprus today. Delivery delays occurred due to unfavorable weather conditions.
Meanwhile, the delay in gas ship arrivals caused panic in the market.
Upon the ship's arrival in the country, a discount of 10 Turkish liras was applied to gas cylinders.
The last time prices for household gas cylinders changed in Northern Cyprus was in mid-December, increasing by 15 TL to reach 390 TL. Previously, on October 24, gas prices had increased by 20 liras.
