Long-Delayed Overpass in Northern Cyprus Finally Gets a Name
After years of delays, the long-awaited overpass project in Northern Cyprus finally has a name. The overpass will be named after the late Prime Minister under whose leadership construction first began.
The announcement was made by Minister of Public Works and Transport, Erhan Arıklı, on social media. He stated that the overpass will be named in honor of former Prime Minister İrsen Küçük, who was in office when the project was initially launched.
Arıklı noted that the project was first initiated in 2012 and highlighted its importance as a large-scale infrastructure development. He also expressed hope that it would be completed during his time in office.
“This will be a major flyover junction. We’re naming it the ‘İrsen Küçük Overpass Junction.’ I hope we’ll be able to finish it,” wrote Arıklı.
