Deadline for insurance contribution amnesty applications extended in Northern Cyprus
The Social Insurance Department in Northern Cyprus announced an extension for submitting applications to participate in the amnesty for outstanding insurance contributions. The original deadline, which was September 22, 2025, has been moved to October 31, 2025.
Decisions under Law Nos. 32/2025 and 33/2025 were published in the Official Gazette on August 23, 2025, and came into effect on the same day. Under this measure, restructuring and forgiveness of overdue contributions and penalties accrued from January 1, 2010, to July 31, 2025, are possible.
Those wishing to benefit from the amnesty must personally apply at the branches or offices of the Social Insurance Department no later than October 31, 2025. For full one-time payment by December 26, 2025, 100% of the principal debt and 10% of accrued penalties must be paid; then the debt will be considered fully settled.
Alternatively, installment payment is allowed under one of the following options, with the remaining portion of the penalties frozen: 25% of principal + 90% of penalties; 50% of principal + 65% of penalties; 65% of principal + 40% of penalties. All payments under the chosen scheme must also be completed by December 26, 2025.
Participation in the amnesty requires prior full settlement of all contributions accrued before December 31, 2009. Details are published on the website ssd.gov.ct.tr. This announcement is addressed to all employers and self-employed persons in Northern Cyprus.
