In North Cyprus, a seasonal firefighting squad of 125 people is being created
In the TRNC, it has been decided to establish a Fire Readiness Squad. It will consist of 125 individuals with the status of seasonal workers.
The decision was published in the Official Gazette. According to the document, the Council of Ministers has decided to create a "Fire Readiness Group" within the Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources from April 1 to November 30, 2023, consisting of 125 seasonal workers.
Funding for the establishment of the seasonal firefighting squad has been allocated from the budget appropriations for the 2024 fiscal year of the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the Department of Forestry.
Members of the squad will receive wages as part-time overtime workers.
