Milk Prices Rise in Northern Cyprus
Milk has been added to the list of staple food items that have become more expensive in Northern Cyprus following the increase in the minimum wage. Following the rise in prices for meat, bagels, and other essential food products, milk prices have also increased by 32 percent.
Thus, the cost of 1 liter of Koop Milk in stores has increased by 10 TL - from 31.5 TL to 41.5 TL. The price of 1 liter of skimmed milk, which was previously 32 TL, has risen to 42.95 TL, and the price of lactose-free milk has increased from 38.25 TL to 46.45 TL.
According to Mahmud Erden, the president of the Association of Dairy Product Manufacturers (SUİB), an increase in the production volume of dairy products will follow the price hike.
It was previously reported that simit bagels became more expensive in Northern Cyprus, while the price of gas cylinders decreased by 10 liras.
