Head-on Collision on Famagusta–Nicosia Highway: Five People Injured
A serious accident occurred on the Famagusta–Nicosia highway at the Korkuteli junction. Five people were injured as a result of a head-on collision between two passenger cars.
The accident happened yesterday around 19:00. The impact caused severe damage to the vehicles, and the road was practically blocked for some time.
According to preliminary data, one vehicle contained a driver and three passengers—all of whom sustained injuries. The driver of the second car was also injured. It is reported that four of the injured are foreign nationals.
Police and ambulance crews arrived at the scene. After receiving first aid, the victims were transported to the Famagusta State Hospital for medical treatment.
Traffic in the area was regulated for a period due to the crash. Movement was restored after the heavily damaged vehicles were towed away.
Police are conducting an investigation to determine the exact cause of the collision.
