Due to the smell of gas, a residential building was evacuated on Dereboyu Street in Nicosia
In the center of Nicosia, firefighters evacuated residents of a multi-story building. The reason for the panic was the smell of gas.
According to local media, the incident occurred yesterday evening on the main promenade street of the city, Dereboyu. Residents of one of the buildings detected the smell in the entrance and around the building. Firefighters, as a precautionary measure, evacuated the residents of the multi-story building, escorting them one by one down the staircases.
However, the panic turned out to be unnecessary – firefighters suspect that the source of the unpleasant smell was garbage dumped near the building.
