New Foreign Representatives Appointed for the TRNC
The Council of Ministers has appointed new foreign representatives for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in London, Istanbul, Brussels, Izmir, Islamabad, and Trabzon. Several diplomats who have completed their terms will return to Northern Cyprus.
According to the Official Gazette, effective August 1, 2025:
Aysan Mullahasan Atilgan has been appointed as the TRNC Representative in London.
Zalihe Mendeli will serve as the Consul General in Istanbul.
Gizem Alpman will represent the TRNC in Brussels.
Mustafa Davulcu has been appointed as the Consul General in Izmir.
Buket Kop will serve as the TRNC Representative in Islamabad.
Fatma Demirel, formerly a consul in Istanbul, has been named Consul General in Trabzon.
Term Extensions
The mandates of:
— Atınç Keskin (Kuwait) and Sonat Altug (Helsinki) have been extended until July 31, 2026.
Diplomats Returning to Nicosia
Several diplomats will return to the Central Office in Nicosia, including:
— Esra Emin, Çimen Keskin, Ayşen Volkan İnanıroğlu, Dilşad Şenol, Ayda Soylu, and Mehmet Dana (who will return on June 18, 2025, upon completing his term).
