The New Year in Northern Cyprus will begin with rain, cold, and frost

The first days of the new year in Northern Cyprus will be marked by unstable weather. According to meteorological forecasts, rain, falling temperatures, and nighttime frosts are expected on the island starting January 1.
Forecasters warn that a cold air front will bring not only precipitation but also a sharp sense of winter after a relatively mild December. During nighttime hours, sub-zero temperatures are possible, creating a risk of icy roads, especially in mountainous and rural areas.
Residents and drivers are urged to exercise caution, take weather conditions into account when traveling, and follow forecast updates during the first days of 2026.
