The public beach of Erenköy has been renamed to attract tourists
A decision has been made in Northern Cyprus to rename one of the public beaches. In this way, the authorities intend to attract more foreign tourists.
The mayor of Erenköy — Karpas, Hamit Bakırdıji, announced this decision on his social media page. The municipal authorities added the phrase "Blue Heaven" to the name of the public beach in Erenköy.
According to the municipal authorities, such a straightforward marketing move will attract additional foreign visitors to the region.
"We are constantly working to ensure that our region, which has always been a center of attraction with its historical, cultural, and natural beauties, benefits from tourism and provides our residents with clean, peaceful, and accessible services."
"In order for foreign tourists to also enjoy and visit our facilities, we decided to add the name Blue Heaven to emphasize the beauty of our wonderful beach as a paradise and the cleanliness of our sea," explained the mayor's reasoning for the rebranding.
It is worth reminding that earlier it was reported that another public beach would appear in Famagusta by summer, and the number of municipal bathing places in Kyrenia would increase to three.
