One of TRNC’s Political Parties Changes Its Name
In Northern Cyprus, the Rebirth Party (YDP) has undergone a name change. According to a decision made by the party assembly, it will now be known as the New Rebirth Party.
The announcement was made on social media by YDP leader and Minister of Public Works and Transport, Erhan Arıklı. He said that the party assembly had convened the day before at the district headquarters in Nicosia, where the agenda was discussed and a new strategic roadmap was outlined.
Additionally, the assembly granted authority to the Central Executive Committee to select the party’s presidential candidate.
“It was decided to rename the party as the ‘New Rebirth Party,’ reviving the name of the party originally founded in 1985 and later dissolved. We plan to update our charter in May,” Arıklı wrote.
