TRNC Parliament Approves Tourism Ministry Budget
The General Assembly of the TRNC Parliament has approved the budget for the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment with a majority vote. The total budget for 2025 is set at 1.936 billion Turkish lira.
In his address, Minister Fikri Ataoğlu outlined the tourism development plan for 2025–2034.
The minister revealed that by 2034, the total capacity for tourist accommodations is expected to exceed 84,000 beds. Financial grants will be allocated to support smaller hotels, specifically those distinct from five-star establishments and casino resorts.
The plan also includes incentives for charter flights, with Minister Ataoğlu clarifying that these incentives will be directed toward airlines rather than travel agencies.
After thorough discussion, the Ministry of Tourism’s budget was approved by a majority vote.
