The Pegasus passenger plane made a landing in Erzincan on its fourth attempt
Today, August 17, 2025, Pegasus flight PC1954, operating the Trabzon–Erzincan route, encountered serious difficulties during its landing approach. The plane descended toward the runway three times, but each time it had to gain altitude again. Only on the fourth attempt did it manage to land safely.
The difficulties were linked to two main factors: strong winds and the possible presence of another aircraft in the runway area without proper control, which created additional pressure for the crew.
On board was the mayor of the Lachin municipality, Fırat Ataser. He shared his impressions of the harrowing flight:
“The plane tried to land four times but couldn’t. We experienced terrifying moments of fear. No explanations were provided by officials or the pilots. From outside, someone suggested that the plane might have had a malfunction. But that’s all we know.”
At the same time, the Civil Aviation Authority press office (Sivil Havacılık Dairesi) stated that no reports of technical malfunctions had been received.
Despite the tense moments, the airliner successfully landed on the fourth attempt. No information about flight delays, additional safety measures, or comments from Pegasus Airlines has been released so far.
