Planned power outage in Northern Cyprus
In the Haspolat area near Nicosia in Northern Cyprus, a temporary power outage is scheduled for today, according to the Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority (Kıbrıs Türk Elektrik Kurumu, Kıb-Tek).
According to the authority, the electricity supply will be suspended due to planned maintenance work on medium-voltage lines. Power will be cut off from 10:00 to 12:00, although in some areas the work may continue until 14:00.
The outage will affect the Haspolat wastewater treatment facilities, water extraction wells, part of the industrial zone, and nearby areas, including the vicinity of Ercan Airport and the village of Kırklar.
Kıb-Tek emphasized that the works are aimed at modernization and improving the resilience of the power grid. Residents are advised to disconnect sensitive electrical devices, use backup power sources, and take safety precautions.
The electricity company apologized for any inconvenience and assured that power will be restored as soon as possible. In case of schedule changes or additional outages, consumers will be notified separately.
