Tender Signed for the Construction of the First President of TRNC Park
The Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment announced the signing of a contract for the construction of the first phase of the mausoleum of the first President of the TRNC, Rauf Raif Denktaş. The tender for the initial phase of the project for the improvement and landscape design of the future Republic Park was won by the company Capiton.
According to the ministry's press service statement, the contract was signed with the company Capiton. Capiton won the tender as part of the work completed in accordance with the protocol signed between the Deputy Prime Minister, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment, and EMU.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Fikri Ataoğlu stated that the first phase of the project would commence soon. It is planned to be completed within 4 months.
According to the minister, the first phase of the project will include landscaping, renewal, and laying of concrete floors, creation of irrigation systems, installation of seats, a skate park, a memorial wall for Rauf Raif Denktaş, and information panels. The second phase of the project includes the renovation of the electrical system, construction of children's playgrounds, and laying of electrical wiring.
“On one hand, we are pleased to have realized the project of the mausoleum of the late Rauf Raif Denktaş, the founding president of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, but on the other hand, we are disappointed with the delay in the implementation of this project due to reasons beyond our control,” the minister said.
