Police in Northern Cyprus reported a series of incidents: 3 arrests, fires, and a car blaze
In Famagusta, Northern Cyprus, on September 19 around 15:30, a fight broke out on Bozyiuk Street between H.A. (34), M.T. (40), and T.Y.A. (24). As a result, a restaurant’s showcase and the headlight of a parked car were damaged; the three participants were detained, and investigative actions were initiated against them.
In Kyrenia, during night inspections, it was found that one establishment was selling alcohol without the appropriate license, while another failed to comply with the closing time of 01:00. Legal proceedings were initiated against the owners.
During general police checks in Northern Cyprus, one person without a residence permit was detained; legal measures were initiated against him.
In the Pasaköy area, Agılar Region, in the morning around 08:00, M.A. (53) caused the spread of fire to another person’s pen while illegally and negligently burning dry grass. As a result, 30 bales of wheat burned; proceedings were initiated against M.A.
On the Lefkoşa–Famagusta road, at about 18:20, a vehicle with the license plate NE 206 caught fire due to a short circuit in the electrical system. The wiring, plastic parts, hood, and headlights were damaged; the windshield cracked from the heat. The fire was extinguished by citizens and a fire brigade.
Police also reported planned traffic checks: 1,524 vehicles were inspected, and several drivers faced sanctions.
