Police detained 10 people after a series of fights and weapon-related incidents
According to the police press service, ten people were detained in a series of incidents recorded on October 25 — in Korkuteli (Turkey) and Northern Cyprus.
In Korkuteli, a conflict between neighbors M.E. (male, 38) and H.E. (male, 55) began around 10:00. According to the police, M.E. came to H.E.’s house, showed a knife, then returned home and brought with him a large knife and a bread knife; he injured his own left inner forearm, broke the kitchen door with a hammer, and damaged furniture and household appliances. M.E. was detained, and the investigation continues.
In Kanlıköy, after a road dispute, C.K. (male, 36) cocked his licensed firearm to intimidate his opponent. A search of his home revealed a registered 9mm pistol, 50 bullets, an air gun, and about five grams of a substance believed to be cannabis. C.K. was detained, and the physical evidence was seized.
In Güzelyurt, on Atatürk Street, a fight occurred involving five people; three of them showed signs of alcohol intoxication (according to tests — 51 mg, 88 mg, and 49 mg), and one refused a breath test. One of the detainees was diagnosed with facial bone and rib fractures. All five were detained, and the investigation continues.
In Alayköy, İskele, and the Ercan Airport area, three people were detained for public drinking and disorderly conduct; two tested positive (278 mg and 237 mg), and one refused testing. Police officers continue to investigate the circumstances of all incidents.
For residents, this means increased police enforcement against weapon-related actions, drug possession, and public disturbances; the identified offenses led to arrests and the seizure of physical evidence.
