Four Foreign Nationals Arrested After Stabbing Incident at CIU Dormitory
Police in Northern Cyprus have arrested four men following a stabbing incident at a student dormitory of Cyprus International University (CIU). The suspects have been placed in custody for three days as the investigation continues.
According to the police press office, the incident occurred last weekend in the corridor of the Buffavento dormitory. On Saturday evening, around 7:20 PM, a fight broke out between two students from Kazakhstan and two students from Tajikistan. During the altercation, bladed weapons were used.
All four individuals were taken into custody and have already appeared in court. They have been charged with possession of a weapon for intimidation, fighting, and disturbing public order.
Since the suspects refused to testify against each other, police are reviewing CCTV footage to establish the full details of the incident.
For now, all four men will remain in custody for three days as the investigation continues.
