TRNC Prime Minister Meets with Turkish Vice President in Ankara
Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Ünal Üstel, met with Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz at the Presidential Complex in Ankara to discuss the Economic and Financial Cooperation Protocol.
Sharing the outcome of the meeting on social media, Yılmaz said:
"During our discussions, we conducted a comprehensive review of the Economic and Financial Cooperation Protocol. We also evaluated regional developments, outlined our priorities for the coming period, and identified key areas for collaboration."
Speaking to Bayrak Radio and Television Corporation (BRT) after the meeting, Prime Minister Üstel confirmed that the main focus was the 2024 Economic and Financial Cooperation Protocol between Turkey and the TRNC.
Üstel emphasized that significant development projects aimed at strengthening the TRNC’s economy are moving forward with the continued support of Turkey. The meeting included a detailed evaluation of investment needs in several sectors—especially infrastructure, construction, energy, healthcare, and tourism—as well as setting clear priorities within those areas.
"With the unwavering support of our motherland, Turkey, we are moving forward confidently toward our national development goals," Üstel said.
