TRNC President Celebrates Birthday and Heads to London
The President of the TRNC, Ersin Tatar, celebrated his birthday over the weekend. Today, the leader of Northern Cyprus is flying to London for official meetings.
On September 7, the Turkish Cypriot leader turned 64. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Turkey sent him a birthday message.
"Mr. President, my dear brother, I send you my warmest wishes on your birthday and wish you many more years of health and happiness with your loved ones. I would also like to take this opportunity to reaffirm that we will continue to support the realization of the two-state solution, which we consider vital to our national cause, the Cyprus issue," Erdoğan said in his message.
At the end of the letter, President Erdoğan also wished "prosperity and success to our Turkish Cypriot brothers."
This morning, President Tatar is leaving the island and heading to London for a series of meetings. During his visit, he will meet with members of the UK Parliament, Turkish Cypriot business leaders, professional organizations, and civil society representatives. He is also scheduled to give interviews to Turkish and international media outlets.
The Northern Cyprus leader’s trip to London will last until September 11. He will be accompanied by Special Representative Güneş Onar and Foreign Press Officer Kerem Haser.
