President of the TRNC marks the Islamic holiday of Eid al-Fitr and addresses drivers
The President of the TRNC, Ersin Tatar, celebrated the Islamic holiday of Eid al-Fitr. The leader of Northern Cyprus congratulated Muslims and addressed drivers, urging them to exercise caution and follow traffic rules to avoid accidents.
Ersin Tatar performed the Eid al-Fitr prayer at the Abu Bakr Mosque in the capital, Nicosia. In his address to journalists upon leaving, the leader of the TRNC extended holiday greetings to the entire Islamic world.
"I wish patience to our brothers and sisters who are currently experiencing immense pain in Gaza and Palestine, those who are there and have endured this catastrophe, and I wish mercy to those who have perished. I hope that the massacre in Gaza will be stopped as soon as possible," emphasized the President of Northern Cyprus.
The President of the TRNC also reminded that in the 1960s, Turkish Cypriots experienced mass killings and suffering similar to what is happening in the Gaza Strip, therefore, they understand perfectly well how important peace, tranquility, and trust are on this sacred day.
Additionally, Ersin Tatar advised drivers who will be traveling during the holiday to be cautious to avoid accidents.
