President of the TRNC Awarded Honorary Doctorate by Another Turkish University
The President of the TRNC, Ersin Tatar, returned to the country after completing his official engagements in Turkey. He participated in a panel discussion at the National Defense University in Istanbul, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation.
As part of his visit to Turkey, President Tatar hosted a conference at Sakarya University titled "Lessons to be Learned from the May 27th Coup and the Cyprus Peace Operation."
Before the conference, attended by Cypriot veterans, the Turkish Cypriot leader was conferred with an honorary doctorate. The event was graced by the Mayor of the Sakarya Municipality and the University Rector.
Speakers at the conference emphasized that the Cyprus Peace Operation brought peace and security to the island. They also noted the unwavering support of the Turkish Republic for the Turkish Cypriots in all circumstances.
Following his lecture, Ersin Tatar met with businessmen and representatives of civil society in Sakarya. After concluding all official engagements, the President of the TRNC returned to the island.
