The President of the TRNC met with political parties before leaving for New York
TRNC President Ersin Tatar met with the leaders of political parties represented in the Republic's Assembly before meeting with UN Secretary-General António Guterres. Tomorrow, the head of Northern Cyprus will leave the island and head to New York.
At the meeting, which started around 1:00 p.m. at the Presidential Administration building, Prime Minister and leader of the National Unity Party, Ersin Tatar, were present. Also attending were the head of the Republican Turkish Party, Tufan Erhürman, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Youth, and the Environment, and chairman of the Democratic Party, Fikri Ataoglu. As well as the Minister of Public Works and Transport, chairman of the Revival Party, Erhan Arkl.
Ersin Tatar was accompanied by Deputy Secretary-General Okan Donangil and members of the negotiating team at the meeting. The meeting lasted about an hour.
It was previously reported that the UN Secretary-General António Guterres invited TRNC President Ersin Tatar to a meeting in New York. The personal meeting will take place on Friday, April 5, at the UN headquarters.
It is expected that tomorrow, Ersin Tatar will leave the island and fly to New York. The head of Northern Cyprus stated that he will ask the UN Secretary-General to lift all embargoes and restrictions on the TRNC.
