President of the TRNC Delivers Message for Labour Day

President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Ersin Tatar, delivered a message marking May 1st – Labour and Solidarity Day. In his address, the President highlighted the vital role of labour in national development, stating that it is through the dedication and hard work of labourers that the country moves toward a stronger and more prosperous future.

Tatar emphasized that “every step taken to protect workers' rights and improve working conditions is an investment in the country’s future.”

“I warmly congratulate all workers on May 1st – Labour and Solidarity Day – a day that celebrates the values of hard work, unity, and mutual support, both in our country and around the world. The efforts of our workers and civil servants, who contribute significantly to the development of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the continuity of production, and the growth of social welfare, deserve our utmost appreciation,” he stated.

The President also reflected on the historical resilience of Turkish Cypriots, noting that their progress has always been driven by labour, production, and solidarity:

“Throughout history, the Turkish Cypriot people have survived and advanced thanks to their dedication to work and unity. We have always stood at the forefront in the struggle for freedom and independence.”

“I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to all the workers and labourers who made tremendous sacrifices during our struggle for existence, helping us become the rightful owners of our own state. We will continue to support our workers as we build a brighter, more modern future together,” Tatar concluded.
