President of Turkey Thanks Kyrgyzstan for Supporting the TRNC
President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, arrived in Kyrgyzstan with an official delegation to participate in the 11th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). The Turkish leader expressed his sincere gratitude for Kyrgyzstan's support in helping the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) obtain observer status within the Organization of Turkic States.
"I sincerely thank you for your support in the TRNC’s participation as an observer member," Erdoğan said.
During his remarks following the High-Level Cooperation Council meeting, President Erdoğan also highlighted that "the trade volume with Kyrgyzstan will increase to 5 billion dollars, and security relations between our countries will be further strengthened."
The 11th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States will take place on November 6 in Bishkek.
This year’s theme is “Strengthening the Turkic World: Economic Integration, Sustainable Development, Digital Future, and Security for All.” The leaders are expected to discuss the further advancement of multilateral cooperation within the organization.
Heads of state from the five member countries of the Organization – Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan – as well as leaders from observer states, will attend the summit.
It has also been announced that the leader of Northern Cyprus will be attending the summit as well.
