The Turkish Cypriot Electricity Authority Workers' Union (El-sen) announces indefinite strike
The Turkish Cypriot Electricity Authority Workers' Union (El-sen) has announced an indefinite strike starting from July 15. After El-sen’s decision, citizens began to ask questions: “Will faults no longer be fixed? What will happen next?”
Gündem Kıbrıs contacted the management of the Turkish Cypriot Electricity Authority (KIB-TEK) regarding the matter and asked whether faults will be resolved following El-sen's strike. In a statement sent to Gündem Kıbrıs, the KIB-TEK management stated that all necessary measures will be taken to avoid inconvenience to the public.
The management stated:
"Necessary measures, especially concerning faults and ensuring the continuity of the institution’s operation, will be taken. Our people can rest assured."
