Milk Price Cut in Northern Cyprus
The board of directors of Koop-Süt has reduced the price of milk by 4.50 Turkish lira per liter. This comes after a 10.5% price hike for milk in Northern Cyprus.
As of Saturday, January 11, 2025, the price of 1 liter of Koop-Süt milk will be 49 TL, following the discount.
Kemal Öztürk, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Koop-Süt, explained that the price reduction was the result of consultations where public health was given top priority.
Negotiations with the relevant ministries aim to boost milk production and pass on reduced production costs to consumers. The board's decision is intended to encourage citizens to adopt healthier eating habits by making milk more accessible.
- "Starting Saturday, January 11, you can buy 1 liter of Koop-Süt milk for 49 Turkish lira. This discount will not only boost milk consumption but also make it more affordable for everyone," said the head of the dairy company.
Earlier, Mahmut Erden, President of the Dairy Producers Association (SUİB), announced that the Ministry of Agriculture of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus had raised the price of raw milk by 10.5% on January 1.
