Five Greek Cypriots arrested in Kalecik for illegal entry and suspected espionage

Five Greek Cypriots — Andreas Kyprianou, Enni Kyprianou, Niki Gregoriou, Antonis Louka, and Gregori Gregoriou — appeared in court on charges of illegal entry onto private property and disturbing the public order in İskele.
According to the police, on July 19, they entered by car the premises of a resort complex and an adjacent plot of land, where they were conducting an unauthorized “investigation.” After complaints from local residents, they were caught red-handed. During the search, maps, annotated documents, lists of construction companies, and names of their directors were seized. According to police claims, the suspects were collecting information on individuals and firms involved in development on Greek properties in the TRNC.
It was noted that Enni Kyprianou possessed information obtained from the company Royal Estate, which operates in Kyrenia. The mobile phones of all detainees were confiscated. The court ordered their detention for three days for further investigation, emphasizing the seriousness of the case.
