Russia continues to be the key supplier of oil and natural gas for Turkey. This was stated by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak during a working visit to Turkey, according to the TASS news agency.

Novak noted that energy cooperation between the two countries is strategic, and Russia remains a reliable supplier for the Turkish market. He emphasized that the Turkish Stream and Blue Stream gas pipelines are operating stably, and the construction of Turkey's first nuclear power plant, Akkuyu, is ongoing.

During meetings with Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, the parties discussed prospects for further cooperation in the fields of gas, oil, and peaceful nuclear energy. Interaction on Russian electricity supplies to Turkey is also continuing.

TASS reports that Russia remains the largest supplier of gas, oil, and petroleum products to Turkey, fulfilling all obligations to Turkish partners.

In addition to energy, the sides discussed the development of trade and economic ties. By the end of 2025, bilateral trade turnover between Russia and Turkey grew, and the volume of Turkish investment in the Russian economy also increased. Progress was also noted in expanding settlements in national currencies and removing trade barriers.

Moscow and Ankara confirmed their intention to continue dialogue on key bilateral and international issues, as well as to implement joint projects in the energy, industrial, and investment sectors.
