From February 1, school holidays will begin in Northern Cyprus
Holidays for elementary and secondary education students in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will start on February 1 and last for two weeks, until February 15.
Students from schools under the Department of Primary Education, the Department of General Secondary Education, and the Department of Vocational and Technical Education will receive their first-semester report cards on January 31. Classes will resume after the holidays on Friday, February 16.
As per the announcement from the Ministry of National Education, the 2023-2024 academic year in primary education schools will conclude with the issuance of report cards and completion certificates on June 14.
In the secondary education and vocational-technical education departments, the 2023-2024 academic year will conclude with the issuance of report cards on June 11.
A total of 26,577 children are enrolled in 125 public and private schools under the Department of Primary Education. In 48 public and private schools under the Department of General Secondary Education, 25,079 students are attending middle and upper classes. Additionally, 3,894 students in middle vocational schools are receiving education in 12 schools under the Department of Vocational and Technical Education.
Approximately 400 students are acquiring education in youth centers and adult education centers.
Throughout the TRNC, 6,187 teachers are employed in public and private schools.
