TRNC National Team Shines at World Football Tennis Championship in Romania
The TRNC national football tennis team achieved remarkable success at the 30th World Championship held in Romania, securing silver medals in two categories and a bronze in one.
The awards ceremony took place after the semi-final and final matches on the last day of the tournament.
The team earned second place in the world for women's singles, second in women's doubles, and third in the mixed doubles category.
In the overall standings, Northern Cyprus ranked fifth among 18 countries, narrowly missing out on podium finishes in both the men's and youth categories. The TRNC team also received an award for Best Teamwork at the tournament.
This prestigious championship took place in the village of Izvorani, near Bucharest, from October 23 to 26, 2024. This year’s championship marked the 30th edition, featuring teams from 22 countries and approximately 250 athletes competing across 13 categories.
