Serdar Denktaş Calls for Ban on Unauthorized Use of Ercan Airspace
Tam Parti Chairman Serdar Denktaş has issued a statement amid the ongoing missile attacks in Middle Eastern countries.
He emphasized that during a period when almost the entire region is embroiled in reciprocal strikes, the airspace of Ercan Airport must not be used without official authorization.
According to Denktaş, US and UK aircraft continue to fly regularly over the island, which, given the current tensions, requires an immediate response.
The politician urged the Ercan Civil Aviation Department to urgently publish a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen), officially declaring that the airspace cannot be used without permission.
"In the current sensitive situation, the Ercan Sivil Havacılık Dairesi must immediately issue a NOTAM and notify that our airspace cannot be used without permission. The necessity of such a step, dictated by current risks, cannot be a subject of discussion," Denktaş stated.
He noted that the issue of airspace security under the present circumstances must be considered a top priority.
