Dust Cloud from Africa Settles Over Northern Cyprus
The Meteorological Department of the TRNC has issued an urgent warning due to dust particles polluting the air. This time, the fine particles have been carried into the region from North Africa, and they are expected to linger in the atmosphere for several days.
According to meteorologists, the warning is in effect from 12:00 PM today, March 4, until noon on Thursday, March 6.
"As the dust particles from North Africa are expected to cause air pollution in our region, citizens who are sensitive to dust are advised to take precautions," the department's statement reads.
This marks the second dust warning issued in Northern Cyprus in 2025. The first was in mid-January, when dust particles were also carried from North Africa.
