Stormy winds to persist in Northern Cyprus until midnight: meteorologists urge caution
The Meteorological Department of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has issued a warning that strong winds will continue to affect land and sea areas until midnight tonight.
According to the information provided, the wind will blow from the south and west and gradually strengthen. On land, wind speeds are expected to range between 50–61 km/h, while at sea the force will reach 7 on the Beaufort scale, corresponding to near-gale conditions.
The warning covers the entire territory of Northern Cyprus — including Girne, Lefkoşa, Gazimağusa, İskele, Güzelyurt and other regions.
Residents are advised to avoid staying in open areas, refrain from going to sea if possible, and secure windows and objects that could be damaged by the wind. Government authorities have increased monitoring until the end of the warning period.
