Meteorologists have extended the dust warning in Northern Cyprus
The Department of Meteorology of the TRNC has extended the validity of the emergency warning due to dust polluting the air. Fine particles brought to the region from North Africa will linger in the atmosphere until the evening of April 4th.
According to meteorologists, the new "dusty" warning is in effect in the country from midnight at 18:00 on March 31st until 20:00 on April 4th.
"Since dust particles from North Africa are expected to cause air pollution in our region, citizens sensitive to dust are advised to be cautious," the agency said in a statement.
Recall that the dust warning was previously announced by the Department of Meteorology of the TRNC on March 26th. It was expected that the dust from North Africa would persist in the atmosphere until the end of March, however, as of the morning of April 1st, it had not yet dispersed.
