UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy to visit the UK and Cyprus
UN Secretary-General's Personal Envoy for Cyprus, Maria Angela Olguín Cuéllar, will visit London on March 7-8. The diplomat will hold a series of meetings with officials of the kingdom in the capital of the United Kingdom.
As reported by the Cyprus News Agency (CNA), the visit of the Special Envoy for Cyprus to the UK was announced at the regular UN briefing for international media by the spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, Stephane Dujarric.
According to the UN Secretary-General's spokesperson, the meetings in the UK will continue the negotiations held by the Colombian diplomat in Athens and Ankara last month. The visit to London marks the concluding stage of the first round of trips to the three guarantor states of the island.
Stephane Dujarric also added that after Maria Angela Olguín Cuéllar's visit to Cyprus, she will again travel to Cyprus, where she is expected to meet with the leaders of Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots, Nikos Christodoulidis and Ersin Tatar.
According to the UN representative, during her stay, the envoy "will continue contacts with a wide range of interlocutors, continuing to pay attention to the problems and expectations of all interested parties."
