Akdeniz Research 1 Granted Permission to Operate in TRNC Territorial Waters
The vessel Akdeniz Research 1 has been authorized to operate in the territorial waters of the TRNC. The decision was published yesterday in the "Official Gazette."
According to the document, the TRNC Council of Ministers has granted permission for the research vessel Akdeniz Research 1 to conduct ichthyoplankton sampling in both TRNC and Turkish territorial waters.
This research is part of the project titled "Study of the Reproductive and Migratory Behavior of Spawning Atlantic Bluefin Tuna in the Eastern Mediterranean."
The Mediterranean Research, Production, and Training Institute of Fisheries, under Turkey's Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, plans to carry out this research from 2024 to 2028.
