Tel-Sen chairman Hakan Yüredi said in a written statement that short-term disruptions in telephone and data services originating from the Kamunet network were recorded yesterday morning. According to him, the malfunctions were promptly fixed by the staff of the Telephone Department, and the service continues to operate as usual.

Yüredi reminded that it was Tel-Sen and telecommunications workers who ensured uninterrupted communication during the pandemic, and they act with the same level of responsibility today. He noted that brief disruptions are possible even in modern infrastructure, but the key factor is the ability to react quickly and restore services.

The statement also expressed concern about reports regarding the transfer of communication infrastructure to outside interests; Yüredi called such discussions troubling and stressed the importance of preserving the public character of critical networks. He added that the union will strive to ensure continuity and quality of public services.

For the residents of Northern Cyprus, this means relative confidence in the restoration of communication in case of brief disruptions; in the event of repeated or prolonged outages, Yüredi urged them to contact official services and follow the announcements of the Telephone Department and Tel-Sen.
