Air temperatures continue to rise: Weather in TRNC on June 5th
According to the Department of Meteorology of the TRNC, on Wednesday, June 5th, the region is experiencing the effects of low pressure and hot air. The air temperature continues to climb, with extremely hot weather persisting in Northern Cyprus.
Temperatures are expected to soar 7-9°C above the seasonal climatic norms. In some areas, temperatures are projected to reach as high as 43°C.
The wind is blowing from the northwest, with moderate strength. No storms are anticipated for today.
Three meteorological warnings are currently in effect in Northern Cyprus. The risk of natural fires has been elevated to very high, and the level of ultraviolet radiation is also high.
It is strongly advised not to spend more than 15 minutes under the sun, especially between 11:00 and 16:00, without taking necessary precautions.
Furthermore, since June 1st, a dust warning has been issued for the region, originating from Africa, which is expected to persist until the end of the day on June 6th.

Western Coast: Lefke – 39°C, Güzelyurt – 40°C.
Central Part: Nicosia – 43°C, Ercan – 42°C.
Eastern Coast: Famagusta – 36°C, İskele – 42°C.
Karpas: Yenierenköy – 35°C.
