Three-month-old baby suddenly died — cause of death to be determined after autopsy

In the village of Mehmetçik (Gazimağusa district, Northern Cyprus), on 7 September 2025 at around 06:00 in the morning, a tragedy occurred: a three-month-old infant named Roham Tan Kızıltan suddenly felt unwell while lying in his crib. The parents immediately took the baby to the local medical centre — Mehmetçik Sağlık Ocağı, where first aid was provided. From there, the infant was transported by ambulance to the Famagusta State Hospital, where, despite all the efforts of the medical staff, he unfortunately passed away.
A police press officer reported that the exact cause of death has not yet been determined: the final diagnosis will be made after the autopsy. The investigation is ongoing — the authorities are examining the incident and awaiting the results to establish whether any pathological condition was involved or whether the death occurred from natural causes.
