The Meritta Center released seven sea turtles in honor of the 102nd anniversary of the Republic

The Meritta Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Center dedicated its final event of the season — the release of seven turtles that had completed treatment and health recovery — to the 102nd anniversary of the Turkish Republic.
According to the center’s representatives, the turtles named Crush, Lokum, Kiraz, Mavi, Yusuf Balıkçılık, Buse and Masal were returned to their natural habitat by members of the Merit hotel network and local fishermen.
The center’s director, biologist Silem Sargın Kara, noted that this release was the final one for the 2025 season:
“We are conducting the last sea turtle release of the season, dedicating it to the 102nd anniversary of the Republic. All seven turtles have fully recovered and are ready to return to the sea.”
