On February 27, 2026, Turkish Airlines (THY) moved its city office in Lefkoşa, Northern Cyprus. The event in Lefkoşa included a brief formal ceremony and a screening of the promotional film "Ada Kıbrıs" starring Meryem Uzerli.

The opening was attended by the Turkish Ambassador to the TRNC, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, ministers, journalists, THY business partners, and invited guests. The program featured speeches by the airline's management and an exchange of greetings.

Mahmut Yayla, Turkish Airlines Sales Manager for Region II, emphasized that the new office is a continuation of the company's more than 70-year presence on the island and an important strategic step. According to him, the office will allow for closer contact with passengers, strengthen relationships with partners, and increase the efficiency of commercial management in the region.

The report noted that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is historically and strategically important for Turkish Airlines: scheduled flights to Lefkoşa began in 1951, and a constant air bridge connecting the island to international traffic has been maintained since then.

For residents of Northern Cyprus, this means improved accessibility to the airline's services and the possibility of more efficient interaction with the THY representative office.
