Turkey has shown interest in driver training in Northern Cyprus
Zorlu Töre, the President of the TRNC Assembly, received a delegation from the Turkish Employers' Union on driver training. The meeting discussed the increasing number of traffic accidents and driver training in Northern Cyprus.
Addressing the Turkish guests in the Assembly's Hall of Honor, the parliament speaker highlighted the rising number of road traffic accidents in the country, as well as the significant increase in population and the number of vehicles.
According to Zorlu Töre, the main reasons for the recent increase in the number of accidents are alcohol, speeding, and the use of mobile phones while driving.
In addition, the parliament speaker pointed out deficiencies in road surfaces, which could also be causes of accidents.
During the meeting, Zorlu Töre also emphasized that "the issue of driver's licenses in the TRNC should be considered and studied in a very broad sense, and conducting joint research is very important."
As part of this work, the formation of a confederation under the auspices of the Organization of Turkish States is expected.
At the end of his speech, the parliament speaker stated that the authorities fully support joint efforts by Turkey and the TRNC in driver training.
