Former Turkey National Team Coach Sepp Piontek Passes Away
German specialist Sepp Piontek, who coached the Turkish national football team from 1990 to 1993, has passed away at the age of 85. His family confirmed the news to Danish media.
Piontek began his football career as a player for the German club Werder Bremen. He later had a distinguished coaching career, including an 11-year tenure with the Danish national team.
In 1990, he took charge of the Turkey A National Football Team, where he served for three years. Following his departure, the head coach position was taken over by Fatih Terim.
Piontek also managed several clubs, including the Turkish side Bursaspor, and left a significant mark on the development of national football in both Turkey and Denmark.
His passing is a great loss for the European football community.
