Fire Damage in Northern Cyprus Surpasses 2.7 Million Lira in One Week
In the past week, 13 fires and 25 incidents requiring rescue team intervention have occurred in Northern Cyprus.
According to the weekly report from the Main Directorate of Police, the total damage from the fires has reached 2,702,500 Turkish Lira. The likely causes of these fires include electrical short circuits, overloaded power panels, discarded unextinguished cigarette butts, and fuel leaks from vehicle engines that ignited upon contact with hot parts.
In addition to extinguishing fires, firefighters rescued a person who had fallen off a cliff in a traffic accident. They also helped cats trapped in trees, fortification walls, and stormwater drains.
