Fire Damage in TRNC Nears 200,000 Liras in One Week
Over the past week, Northern Cyprus has seen four fires and 32 incidents that required the intervention of rescue teams.
According to the weekly report from the Cyprus Police Department, the total damage caused by the fires amounted to 195,000 Turkish liras.
The fires were likely caused by various factors, including electrical short circuits, oil leaks from vehicle engines, the overheating of chimneys, ignition of firewood on suspended ceilings, and oil overheating in deep fryers.
Beyond extinguishing the fires, firefighters also carried out numerous rescues. They saved individuals trapped in vehicles after accidents, a dog stuck in a two-meter well, cats stranded in trees, and even a pigeon trapped on a balcony.
