2025 Budget for TRNC Police Approved
The Committee on Economy, Finance, Budget, and Planning of the TRNC Assembly has unanimously approved the 2025 budget for the Police Directorate, amounting to 6,298,900,000 Turkish Lira.
During the session, Police General Director Kasım Kuni highlighted that the TRNC police force currently employs 2,313 officers, while the authorized staffing level allows for 3,000. This leaves 687 positions vacant. The police department also includes 240 firefighters, 327 civil service personnel, and 287 employees in the Civil Immigration Department.
After discussions on ongoing investigations, the budget was approved without objections. Kasım Kuni extended his gratitude to all participants who contributed to the budget discussions.
Previously, it was reported that the parliamentary committee had approved the budget for the TRNC Ministry of Tourism.
