Bus Carrying Russian and Belarusian Tourists Crashes in Antalya: Driver Dies

A bus carrying Russian and Belarusian tourists crashed in Antalya, Turkey, resulting in injuries to 20 passengers and the death of the driver.

According to the IHA agency, the accident occurred early this morning in the Manavgat district of Antalya province. At the time of the incident, the minibus was transporting Russian and Belarusian tourists from hotels in Alanya to Antalya Airport. Upon entering the Democracy Bridge interchange on the Manavgat ring road (Side), the vehicle crashed into a concrete pillar.

The front part of the bus was completely destroyed, rendering the vehicle irreparable. According to the latest reports, 16 Russians, four Belarusian citizens, and the driver were injured in the accident. All the injured were taken to nearby hospitals.

Despite the doctors' best efforts, the driver passed away in the hospital.

The Association of Tour Operators reported that there were 25 tourists on the minibus — 18 from Russia and 7 from Belarus. All those injured in the accident are receiving support from the insurance company (reported to be “Ingosstrakh”) and representatives of the tour operator.

According to the tour operator, five people who were not injured in the accident (three Belarusian citizens and two Russians) managed to catch their flights and departed home as scheduled.
